Chase Hallman
Director, Public Safety Business Development
Chase Hallman leverages his 25 years of law enforcement experience with the Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to build and maintain relationships within the public safety sector for VIA. This deep, first-hand knowledge allows him to understand and address client technology needs, proven by his spearheading of multi-million dollar GDC initiatives and creation of the GHOST intelligence program, which drastically improved the efficiency of statewide cellular assessments to disrupt contraband trafficking. Chase holds a Master of Public Safety Administration from Columbus State University.

Colin is a sought-after speaker at high-profile conferences, sharing his expertise and vision for the future of Web3 data protection. Colin graduated from Harvard University.

Emily previously worked at aPriori Technologies and other SaaS companies, developing expertise in customer adoption and success. Emily graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and the Stevens Institute of Technology.

Haden Snyder
Director, Client Delivery
Haden Snyder leads teams that provide solutions for the U.S. Department of Defense and state governments. He has pioneered VIA’s approach to rapid development and deployment of applications that meet extremely high military and intelligence community standards for cybersecurity and data protection. Before joining VIA, Haden served for 12 years at the National Security Agency in operational and cybersecurity roles with multiple overseas assignments. He is a graduate of the University of Tulsa and completed a fellowship at Harvard’s Belfer Center.

Hank Nelson leads teams that deliver integrated data solutions to state-level public safety agencies, providing actionable, data-driven insights. Prior to VIA, he spent nine years in international development, including overseas assignments supporting countering violent extremism in East Africa and providing cybersecurity policy support in Ukraine. Hank is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.

Joe Babiec leads VIA’s efforts to initiate and build long-term relationships with customers and business partners. He particularly focuses on U.S. federal and state government opportunities to continue VIA’s rapid commercial growth. Joe has three decades of experience as a strategic advisor to senior corporate and government executives, an entrepreneur, an early-stage venture investor, and a private equity company board member. Joe is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the London School of Economics.

Kate Ravanis oversees all aspects of VIA’s operations, with a particular focus as executive sponsor for VIA’s largest customers. From VIA’s founding, she has ensured that all aspects of VIA’s operations perform efficiently while scaling rapidly. Prior to VIA, Kate was an executive guiding the rapid growth at a global analytics firm with customers including at some of the world’s most well-known companies. She is recognized by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for her expertise in the practical application of AI in the energy industry. Kate graduated from Northeastern University.

Kristen Merrill

Kristen Merrill is a senior leader on VIA’s client delivery team. She joined VIA shortly after its founding and pioneered the company’s approach to ensuring on-time delivery and high levels of customer satisfaction. Kristen has led VIA delivery teams that support a wide range of commercial and government customers. She previously led client service groups at Fuld Omniscope, Grail Research, and Monitor Group (now part of Deloitte Consulting). Kristen graduated from Cornell University.

Sam Cruickshank supports VIA’s go-to-market activities, including leading sales operations and cross-functional initiatives while supporting proposal submissions and contract management. Sam has a strong background in market strategy and business operations from working in the technology industry at companies like Clora. Sam graduated from Bates College.

Stan Byers
Vice President, Business Development and Transformation
Stan Byers initiates and builds VIA’s commercial relationships, including with U.S. and foreign government agencies and non-governmental organizations. He has a decade of experience in the application of advanced technologies and cybersecurity to address international economic and development challenges. Before joining VIA, Stan built and led high-performing teams at USAID and in the private sector. He was also a TED Speaker and on the staff of the White House National Security Council. Stan graduated from Purdue University and Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.

John Muddle, Ph.D.
Vice President, Software Engineering
John is focused on implementing best practices for software development at VIA. He co-invented VIA’s core platform and currently develops, integrates, and quality assurance tests the platform for VIA’s applications.
Before VIA, John was a freelance consultant at the Numerical Algorithms Group (NAG), where he focused on updating their Python Library. Prior to this position, he was a technical sales support engineer at NAG in Oxford, where he developed technical marketing material and provided pre-sales assistance. John was awarded the best thesis in gravitation physics in 2016 by the Institute of Physics (IOP). His research focused on developing new numerical methods that capture the physical behavior of fluid interfaces permeated by high magnetic fields while taking into account relativistic effects.
John earned his master’s degree in physics and his Ph.D. in applied mathematics from the University of Southampton.
